At Brothers Plumbing, Heating & Electric, we are always looking for ways to give back to our community. We also like to encourage our team to find ways to improve their physical and mental health. This got us thinking, why not merge the two and sponsor a walk-a-thon. Over the month of May, we set a challenge for our team members to go for walks and record their progress. For every mile walked, Brothers would donate $5 to a deserving non-profit.
We are honored to announce the donation of $1,305 to Salute Colorado.
As our technician’s yellow booties would indicate, we are in the middle of quarter 2, which means our Brothers Gives Back donations may lean towards military affiliated non-profits. This isn’t a rule but something we seek to accomplish. When thinking about where to donate the money we raise with this walk-a-thon, we came across Salute Colorado.
Salute Colorado is a local non-profit that’s mission is to “support Veterans in their transition from military service through continuous program education, mentorship, and community.” They offer programs that can span anywhere from 10 weeks to 2 years with some opportunities for ongoing support and guidance through mentorship programs, classes, and informal get-togethers with others going through similar situations. These programs focus on helping Veterans learn how to transition their experience from the military into civilian life. Teaching them how to take the things they know and converting that into a successful career.
